Antarctica: The underbelly of our planet.

Antarctica is the highest, driest, coldest, windiest, and emptiest place on earth. Its unparalleled environment makes it similar to visiting another planet!

According to the United States Antarctic Program (USAP), only 3,000 people deploy each year to conduct or support research in the Antarctic region. As a participant in the USAP, I am thrilled for the opportunity to experience an extraordinary place that few people have ventured. Most importantly, I am excited to share my team’s adventures with you!

Below are some basic facts about the continent of Antarctica. Why do you think so few people have ventured to this region on the earth?

    • Hola Sra. Soos,

So glad you’ve had a chance to check out the new additions to A Fly on the Pole. Can’t wait to share this remarkable experience with you (my sister) and your wonderful Spanish students. Please tell everyone from Buckeye Local HS (my alma mater) to have a safe and happy New Year!

      Best,
      Natalie
